JOHNSTOWN – Rep. Jim Rigby (R-Cambria/Somerset) will be offering veterans affairs outreach hours in his district office at 1340 Franklin St. in Johnstown on Tuesday, April 16, from 2-4:30 p.m. An accredited field service officer from the American Legion Department of Pennsylvania will be available to assist veterans with a variety of issues.

The field service officer will assist veterans in filing VA claims for disability compensation, disability increase and rating decision appeals; veteran or surviving spouse pension; burial and death benefits; addition of dependents; dependency and indemnity compensation; as well as other veterans’ benefits. Veterans do not need to be a member of the American Legion to receive this free service.

“Veterans have given us one of the greatest gifts: a free country to call home. They gave their time – and sometimes even their lives – to defend our country, so I am thankful that I have the opportunity to help them and their families by connecting them with a knowledgeable advocate for their needs,” Rigby said.

Please call the district office at 814-536-9818 to schedule an appointment with the field service officer or with any questions.

The veteran outreach hours offered on April 16 are the first of a monthly series of events. All outreach hours will be held in the Johnstown office on the third Tuesday of the month from 2-4:30 p.m. A complete list of dates is available at RepJimRigby.com.
