Langerholc, Rigby Announce More than $1.6 Million in Local Grants

HARRISBURG – State Sen. Wayne Langerholc (R-35) and state Rep. Jim Rigby (R-Cambria/Somerset) are pleased to announce more than $1.6 million in Local Share Account (LSA) grants for projects in their communities.
“These grants represent a meaningful investment in our local communities,” said Langerholc. “By working closely with Rep. Rigby to secure these funds, we are supporting projects that strengthen public safety, improve infrastructure, and better serve residents while positioning our region for long-term growth.”
“These LSA funds will make a real difference in our communities by enhancing public safety, improving infrastructure and expanding recreational opportunities,” added Rigby. “I'm excited to see these projects come to life and positively impact our residents.”
The Local Share Account (LSA) program distributes funds from gaming revenue to support community and economic development projects.
Grants awarded include:
• Adams Township - $190,714 for renovations to the baseball field at its Little League complex.
• Cambria County - $250,000 for a drone hub as part of a remote operations center at John Murtha Johnstown-Cambria County Airport.
• Cresson Borough - $132,672 for upgrades at the Cresson Volunteer Fire Company.
• Ferndale Borough - $76,050 for a new roof on its municipal building.
• Gallitzin Township - $106,201 for the purchase of rescue tools by the Ashville Volunteer Fire Company.
• Geistown Borough - $117,388 for the purchase of a new plow truck.
• John Murtha Johnstown Airport Authority - $87,000 for the purchase of a skid-steer loader and a utility work machine.
• Portage Borough - $39,375 for the purchase of license plate readers and bodycams.
• Portage Borough Municipal Authority - $39,375 for fire hydrant upgrades.
• Portage Township - $77,053 for maintenance vehicles to be used at Crichton McCormick Park.
• Reade Township - $114,730 for the purchase of a new plow/dump truck.
• Richland Township - $126,300 for playground renovations at Highland Regional Park.
• Sankertown Borough - $59,372 for the purchase of a new police vehicle.
• South Fork Borough - $30,198 for creation of an outdoor education and lecture area at the South Fork Historical Society.
• Stonycreek Township - $45,000 for the purchase of a new generator.
• Summerhill Township - $129,312 for the purchase of two new police cruisers.
