Rigby, Kephart Applaud Grant for Cambria County Historical Society

June 5, 2025

HARRISBURG – State Reps. Jim Rigby (R-Cambria/Somerset) and Dallas Kephart (R-Cambria/Clearfield) are pleased to announce the awarding of a more than $43,000 grant to the Cambria County Historical Society by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC).

“It’s incredibly important to remember where we came from,” Rigby said. “This money will allow our county historians to continue to do just that.”

The funding will be used to preserve 41 windows in the historic A.W. Buck House, which serves as the society’s headquarters. The intent is to preserve them in the original profile and time period of each window.

“This is a great ‘gift’ for the historical society, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year,” Kephart added. “They continue to do a great job of keeping the county’s past alive for current and future generations.”

The PHMC is responsible for the collection, conservation, and interpretation of Pennsylvania's historic heritage, which they accomplish through entities such as the Pennsylvania State Archives, the State Museum of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania State Historic Preservation Office.
