Langerholc, Rigby Applaud Grant for Mount Aloysius College
11/1/2024
HARRISBURG: State Sen. Wayne Langerholc, Jr. (R-35) and state Rep. Jim Rigby (R-Cambria/Somerset) are pleased to announce a $1.8 million Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grant that has been awarded to Mount Aloysius College for improvements to its library.

“Sen. Langerholc and I were recently on campus to check out this project and get a firsthand look at the assets which Mount Aloysius students and the surrounding community are going to be able to access,” said Rigby. “We applaud the investment that school officials are making in the educational product they offer to create an even more attractive choice for prospective students.”

RACP is a Commonwealth grant program administered by the Office of the Budget for the design, acquisition, and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects.

The school is in the middle of a comprehensive upgrade to its library, and the funding will be put to use in that project. The facility is being modernized to include a new career center, state-of-the-art cybersecurity lab on its first floor, virtual interview rooms and workstations for public use.

“This funding helps ensure that college students in our region continue to have access to cutting-edge resources,” Langerholc said. “Providing Mount Aloysius students with modernized workspaces is just one way to foster a productive educational environment and support the college as it continues to drive economic and educational activity in Cambria County.”
